Biography

OfRo , whose real name is Rohith Abraham , is an Indian music producer, composer, singer, songwriter, and record producer who primarily works in the Tamil music industry. Born on July 19, 1987, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, OfRo has emerged as one of the most influential figures in the Tamil independent music scene, known for his innovative sound and collaborations with several popular artists. Raised in Chennai, OfRo developed a passion for music at a young age and began learning the piano when he was just seven years old. His interest in electronic music production grew over the years, leading him to form the band Nerverek in 2005. After completing his studies at Loyola College, Chennai, he moved to Australia to pursue advanced music production studies at SAE Institute, graduating in 2013. OfRo started his professional career in the film industry in 2014, working as an additional programmer for composer Harris Jayaraj on the Tamil film Yennai Arindhaal. He later ventured into independent music and gained recognition through projects that blended contemporary sounds with socially relevant themes. His breakthrough came with the critically acclaimed Tamil hip-hop album Therukural, created in collaboration with rapper Arivu. The album received widespread appreciation for its unique musical style and powerful social commentary. Apart from his work as a composer and producer, OfRo is also the co-founder of Atti Culture, a record label and production company that promotes independent artists and original music. He is also associated with Madras Medai, a music festival and conference dedicated to supporting and expanding South India's independent music ecosystem. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Arivu, Asal Kolaar, Paal Dabba, Santhosh Narayanan, ADK, Roshan Jamrock, and several others. In recent years, OfRo has expanded his presence in cinema as a music director, contributing to films such as DD Returns and DD Next Level. Known for his genre-blending compositions and modern production techniques, he continues to be one of the leading voices shaping the future of Tamil independent and film music.
