Kartik Aaryan Biography

Kartik Aaryan, born as Kartik Tiwari on November 22, 1990, is one of Bollywood’s self-made stars, known for his charm, comic timing, and iconic monologues. Hailing from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, he comes from a family of doctors—his father is a pediatrician and his mother a gynecologist. Despite pursuing a Biotechnology Engineering degree from D.Y. Patil University in Mumbai, Kartik secretly followed his passion for acting, skipping classes for auditions and eventually completing his degree years later.

Early Career and Breakthrough

Kartik made his Bollywood debut with Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011), directed by Luv Ranjan. His four-minute monologue in the film became a viral sensation, instantly putting him in the spotlight. However, his journey wasn’t without struggles, as films like Akaash Vani (2013) and Kaanchi: The Unbreakable (2014) failed at the box office. He bounced back with Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015), regaining momentum in his career.

Rise to Stardom

Kartik achieved massive commercial success with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), which marked his entry into the 100-crore club. He further solidified his position with hit romantic comedies like Luka Chuppi (2019) and Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019). Post-pandemic, he delivered one of the biggest Bollywood hits with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, followed by the much-awaited sequel Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Versatility and Critical Acclaim

Breaking away from his comic image, Kartik showcased his acting range in intense films like Dhamaka and Freddy. His career reached a significant milestone with Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan. In the film, he portrayed Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medallist, delivering a powerful performance that earned him the prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Actor. His physical transformation and emotional depth in the role were widely praised, marking a turning point in his career.
