Tubelight Story

Tubelight is a 2017 Bollywood war drama movie, written and directed by Kabir Khan.  Salman is teaming up with director Kabir Khan for the duo’s third outing. In this movie Salman will share screen space with his younger brother Sohail Khan, as brothers. Director Kabir Khan said " “Needless to say that my films always have political backdrops because these are the kind of stories that excited me. So, that’s always gonna be there. As far as story goes, it is very different to what I’ve done so far,” Kabir said. As per the latest reports , “The film is based at the backdrop of the Sino-Indian war of 1962, where a disputed Himalayan border served as the main pretext for the war. It isn’t a political saga. It’s more a human drama." Music: The music for Tubelight is composed by Pritam. The lyrics were penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya & Kausar Munir. Overall, the movie has 5 songs. Release Date: The movie is all set to hit the big screens on June 23 as the Eid release.

Tubelight suffers from a painfully slow narrative that just keeps dragging on and on until it meets its fateful end in the form of one of the most cliched climaxes in Bollywood. By the time, the filmmaker makes his point, it's a tad late and you find yourself already drowning in the puddles of 'kya tumhe yakeen hai' in almost every character's dialogues. Salman Khan is the only flickering ray of hope in this damp squid. It's quite heartening to watch him play a man-child with such innocence and vulnerability. There's a dialogue in the film which goes like- "Yakeen ek tubelight ki tarah hota hai...der se jalta hai...lekin jab jalta hai, toh full light kar deta hai." The same holds true for Salman Khan's Eid release Tubelight. It takes its own sweet time to flicker but then barely lasts to shine bright!
