Paan Singh Tomar Story

Paan Singh Tomar movie revolves around a true story of a runner who turned into a rebel. The movie is based on a character Paan Singh Tomar, from a small town of Madhya Pradesh who joins the Bengal Engineers to escape poverty. He then becomes a runner and wins the steeplechase event at the Indian National Games for seven years in a row. He gives up running and his post as a subedar in the Army and goes on to become a baaghi who wreaks havoc in the Chambal Valley.

Director Tigmanshu manages to keep the audiences' interest intact with many nail biting scenes. Paan Singh Tomar draws inspiration from Shekhar Kapur'sBandit Queen, which is also a biopic on Phoolan Devi.

A plot like this is likely to turn monotonous after a certain time. However, Tigmanshu has made a serious endeavour to grab your attention by focussing on the reason behind why Paan Singh decides to become a dacoit.
