Sanchita Ugale (c. 2004 – June 14, 2026) was a talented Indian television and film actress known for her work in Hindi daily soaps and OTT projects. She rose to fame with her notable role as Diya Tandon in Zee TV’s popular show Kumkum Bhagya. At just 22, her life and promising career came to a tragic end when she passed away at her residence in Mumbai.
Sanchita Ugale came from a middle-class family in Sangamner, located in Maharashtra’s Ahilyanagar district. Inspired by watching daily soaps during her childhood, she developed a strong interest in acting and began her journey through local theatre. Determined to build a career in the entertainment industry, she later moved to Mumbai, where she managed her studies while taking up early acting projects.
On June 14, 2026, Sanchita was tragically found dead at her residence in Nalasopara East, near Mumbai. Initial police reports suggested it to be a case of suicide. Her sudden passing shocked the entire entertainment industry, especially as she had shared a cheerful video on her Instagram just a few hours before the incident.
Sanchita quickly made a mark on television with strong performances across major networks. In Kumkum Bhagya (Zee TV), she played Diya Tandon for nearly 1.5 years, a role she often described as a turning point in her career. She also appeared in Wagle Ki Duniya (SAB TV) as Ruchita Jaitley, showcasing her versatility. Later, she landed her first lead role in Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi (Dangal TV), where she starred as Sukoon opposite Sorab Bedi.
Expanding beyond television, Sanchita also stepped into digital platforms and films with notable roles. In Chhaava (2025), she entered mainstream Bollywood by playing the younger version of Tara Rani alongside Vicky Kaushal. She appeared with Manoj Bajpayee in the thriller Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout (2024) on ZEE5, and was also part of Crime Aaj Kal on Prime Video, an episodic crime anthology hosted by Vikrant Massey.
