Who Is Kushal Tanwar Aka Gullu? From Roadies & Splitsvilla Star to Maa Hai Naa Trophy Winner

Khushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu or “Gullu Boxer,” is a rising Indian digital content creator and reality TV star who gained nationwide recognition for his remarkable achievements. He made history by becoming one of the rare contestants to secure back-to-back victories on major MTV India youth reality shows, earning a strong fan base and establishing himself as a standout personality in the reality entertainment space. 

Before rising to fame on reality television, Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu, built a strong foundation in hospitality and fitness. Born in 1999 in Gurugram, Haryana, he grew up in a supportive Gujjar family and developed a passion for fitness and athletics from a young age, which later shaped his on-screen persona. He completed his schooling in Haryana before moving to Maharashtra to pursue higher education at the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (IHMCT), Pune, where he earned a B.Sc. degree in Hotel/Motel Administration and Management between 2019 and 2022. 

Kushal Tanwar, aka Gullu, along with his mother Munesh Tanwar, emerged as the winners of Maa Hai Na Season 1, marking a historic milestone in his reality TV journey. With this win, Gullu completed a rare hat-trick of back-to-back victories across major reality shows. The celebrity cooking and family-based show, hosted by Shilpa Shetty Kundra, featured contestants teaming up with their mothers to tackle culinary challenges while sharing heartfelt personal stories. Celebrating the achievement, Gullu proudly called it a “hattrick” moment, further cementing his status as a consistent winner in the reality entertainment space. 

Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as “Gullu,” has carved a unique space in reality television by achieving an impressive hat-trick of wins across three major shows. He first rose to fame after winning MTV Roadies XX, proving his strength and determination in the high-intensity adventure format. He then continued his winning streak on MTV Splitsvilla X6 (Season 16), where he clinched the title in the popular dating reality show. 

Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu, is reportedly dating his Splitsvilla X6 co-star Kaira Anu. Despite their closeness, he recently found himself at the center of fake marriage rumours after traditional wedding pictures went viral online. Addressing the speculation, Kushal clarified in an interview that he is not married and confirmed that the circulating images were completely fake.
