Evelyn Sharma is a German-born actress and model who made her mark in the Hindi film industry. She gained widespread recognition for her role as Lara in the blockbuster Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Born to an Indian father and a German mother, she built a successful career in modeling and acting in India before eventually relocating to Australia. 

Evelyn Sharma, born Evelyn Lakshmi Sharma on 12 July 1986 in Frankfurt, has a rich multicultural background with a Punjabi Indian father and a German mother. Raised in Germany, she developed an early interest in acting and creativity, which later shaped her career. Before stepping into the entertainment industry, she completed a degree in Business Management and briefly worked in real estate. She is also known for her linguistic skills, being fluent in multiple languages including English, Hindi, and German.

Evelyn Sharma’s personal life has seen significant changes in recent years. She married Tushaan Bhindi on May 15, 2021, in Brisbane, and the couple has two children together, a daughter Ava Rania and a son Arden. After marriage, she moved from Mumbai to Sydney to focus on her family and business ventures. However, as of May 1, 2026, she has officially confirmed her separation from Tushaan Bhindi, with the couple deciding to end their five-year marriage and proceed with a mutual divorce. 

Evelyn Sharma began her career with a small role in the British-American film Turn Left (2006) before making her Bollywood debut with From Sydney with Love (2012). She rose to fame with her breakthrough role as Lara in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and went on to feature in popular films like Yaariyan, Main Tera Hero, Nautanki Saala!, and Kuch Kuch Locha Hai. Her last major screen appearance was in Saaho alongside Prabhas. Beyond films, she has also worked as a TV host on shows like Life Mein Ek Baar and Euromaxx on Deutsche Welle, and released her music single “Something Beautiful” in 2014

In the blockbuster Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Evelyn Sharma played Lara, a bubbly and flirtatious character who grabs Bunny’s attention, portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor.
