Top 5 Low-budget Malayalam Movies Dominated The Box Office In 2023

Pranayavilasam did well in the box office. The film hit the  theaters on February 24 and earned Rs 2.05 crore in 10 days. It was declared as average grosser at the box office and made Rs 4 crore. This romantic -comedy drama directed by Nikhil Muraly, and also features Arjun Ashokan, Anaswara Rajan, Mamitha Baiju, Hakkim Shah, and Manoj K U in prominent roles. It follows several love stories involving characters at varying stages of their lives.

Pachuvum Athbuth Vilakkum was made on a meagre budget and earned whopping Rs. 17.2 crore at the box office. Written and directed by Akhil Sathyan, the film stars Fahadh Faasil as the protagonist - Prashanth Rajan aka Pachu, with Anjana Jayaprakash, Mohan  Agashe, and Indrans in pivotal roles. The film follows a man whose unexpected shift in travel plans leads to a stroke of unforeseen fortune.

Soubin Shahir starrer 'Romancham'  became a huge hit at the box office. Earning approximately Rs 100 crore, it was made on a budget of Rs 5 crore. Written and directed by Jithu Madhavan, “Romancham,” which means goosebumps, is based on a real story of seven bachelors who are trying to build a life of their own in Bangalore in the year 2007. The film masterfully combines elements of both comedy and horror, creating a unique and captivating experience for its audience.
