Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar Confirm Divorce With Social Media Post, Here’s How Their Love Story Began

Mouni Roy is a prominent Indian actress and entrepreneur who rose to fame through television before making a successful transition to Bollywood. She became a household name with her iconic roles as the shape-shifting serpent Shivanya in the popular supernatural series Naagin and as Goddess Sati in Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev. 

Mouni Roy and her husband Suraj Nambiar have now seemingly confirmed their separation after weeks of intense speculation on social media. The rumours initially began when fans noticed the couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram, with Suraj reportedly deleting wedding photos and Mouni removing several recent pictures featuring him. Now, putting an end to the buzz, the two have announced their divorce, stating that they have chosen to part ways amicably and will continue to remain friends moving forward.

Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar’s love story began with a chance meeting in Dubai during New Year celebrations through mutual friends. What started as an organic connection soon turned into a serious relationship, which they kept private for nearly two years. Their bond reportedly grew stronger during the COVID-19 pandemic when Mouni spent time with Suraj and his family. By March 2021, the relationship became more official as Mouni met Suraj’s parents, signaling a deeper commitment. 

Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar got married on January 27, 2022, in a grand destination wedding at the Hilton Goa Resort in Candolim. The three-day celebration beautifully blended their cultures, with both traditional Malayali and Bengali ceremonies. The festivities began on January 26 with vibrant Haldi and Mehendi functions, where Mouni stunned in a yellow lehenga by designer Payal Singhal. 

For those unfamiliar, Suraj Nambiar is a successful businessman and investment banker. Born into a Jain family in Bengaluru, he pursued his education at the London School of Economics and Stanford University. He later moved to Dubai, where he established a strong career in finance and co-founded an event management company with his brother.
