Maa OTT Release Date: Where to Stream Kajol’s Gripping Mythological Horror Online

Maa is a Mythological Horror movie directed by Vishal Furia, featuring Kajol in lead roles. The film also stars an extensive supporting cast, including Ronit Bose Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma and many more. Maa is written by Saiwyn Quadras and Produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande under Ajay Devgn FFilms. 

The story follows Ambika (Kajol), a grieving mother whose life takes a dark turn after her husband, Shubankar (Indraneil Sengupta), dies unexpectedly. To settle property disputes, Ambika and her young daughter Shweta (Kherin Sharma) travel to their ancestral village, Chandrapur. What begins as a routine visit soon unravels into a nightmare when they uncover horrifying secrets about an ancient demonic force that has haunted the region for generations.

Soon after their arrival, teenage girls start disappearing, including Shweta. Ambika learns that a ruthless demon called Aamsaja targets girls after their first period. The village’s disturbing past is tied to Kali Puja rituals, sacrifices, and a cursed tree believed to hold Aamsaja’s soul. The demon’s terrifying humanoid form, portrayed by Ronit Roy, becomes the ultimate threat.

As the battle intensifies, Ambika undergoes a powerful transformation. In a climactic showdown, she channels the divine energy of Goddess Kali, driven by fierce maternal love, unyielding anger, and unshakable faith, to rescue her daughter and the missing girls from the clutches of evil.

After a successful theatrical run, Maa is all set for its digital premiere. The mythological horror thriller starring Kajol will stream exclusively on Netflix starting August 22, 2025. Horror fans who missed the big screen experience can now watch Ambika’s chilling fight against the demonic force Aamsaja from the comfort of their homes.

Kajol’s Maa turned out to be a solid performer at the box office. The film grossed ₹51.94 crore worldwide, with ₹45.44 crore gross and ₹38.51 crore net coming from India. In overseas markets, it collected ₹6.45 crore, proving its appeal among horror fans beyond borders.
