Kalatapasvi K Viswanth garu was one of the greatest directors in Tollywood. Sankarabharanam

Sankarabharanam is a Telugu musical drama film directed by K Viswanth garu in the year 1980. The movie deals with a popular Carnatic singer 'Sankarabharanam' Sankara Sastry. Sankarabharanam created numerous records at a theatrical run and also pored many national and international awards for the film. The film won the Prize of the Public at the "Besançon Film Festival of France" in the year 1981. In 2013, the poll conducted by CNN-IBN, Sankarabharanam came eleventh in the poll for finding the "greatest Indian film ever." 

Saagara Sangamam

Telugu musical dance film Sagara Sangamam was written and directed by K. Viswanath and produced by Nageswara Rao Edida. The film stars Kamal Haasan and Jaya Prada in the lead roles. After its release, the film received positive reviews and became a box-office hit. It features an aspiring multi-talented dancer Balu played by Kamal Haasan. It has won two National Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, and the Nandi Award for Best Feature Film (Bronze). According to CNN-IBN, the film ranks among the top 100 Indian films of all time.

 

It was dubbed into Tamil and Malayalam and released as Salangai Oli and Sagara Sangamam, respectively. 

Swathi Muthyam 1986

Swathi Muthyam is a Telugu drama film written and directed by K. Viswanath and produced by Edida Nageswara Rao. The cast includes Kamal Haasan and Raadhika in the lead. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja did magic with his composing as every song in the film is a chartbuster. Swathi Muthyam was a blockbuster at the box office. Swathi Mutyam was officially selected by India for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards in 1986, but it was not nominated.
