Anant V Joshi Replaces Vaibhav Raj Gupta as Annu Mishra in Gullak Season 5, Meet the Full Cast of the Beloved Family Drama

Actor Anant V Joshi has joined Gullak Season 5, stepping into the role of Anand “Annu” Mishra and replacing Vaibhav Raj Gupta, who portrayed the character in the first four seasons. The casting change, announced on May 8, 2026, marks a notable shift for the beloved family series. Known for his performances in projects like 12th Fail, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, Maamla Legal Hai, and Virgin Bhasskar, Anant V Joshi now takes on the role of the Mishra family’s eldest son in the upcoming season. 

In the popular TVF series Gullak, Jameel Khan plays the lead role of Santosh Mishra, the relatable and hardworking patriarch of the Mishra family. Portraying a middle-class father employed in the electricity department, his performance has been widely appreciated for its authenticity, subtle humor, and emotional depth. His impactful portrayal has also earned him several accolades, including Best Actor in a Comic Role at the IWM Buzz Digital Awards (Season 4) and a Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actor in a Comedy. 

In the popular TVF series Gullak, Geetanjali Kulkarni plays Shanti Mishra, the caring yet strict mother of the Mishra family. Also known as “Annu ki Mummy,” she manages the household with a mix of love, sarcasm, and discipline. Her role as a middle-class homemaker feels very real and relatable, which is why audiences love her so much. She has also won several Filmfare OTT Awards for her performance and is praised for perfectly portraying the language and style of a North Indian woman. 

In the popular TVF series Gullak, Harsh Mayar plays Aman Mishra, the witty and mischievous younger son of the Mishra family. His character is loved for his funny one-liners and realistic sibling fights with his elder brother Annu, perfectly showing the life of a middle-class teenager. To fit the role, he even gained weight and keeps a clean-shaven look to appear younger. Before gaining popularity from Gullak, Harsh Mayar won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for I Am Kalam.
