After Dacoit Success, Adivi Sesh Signs Two New Romantic Films As 2026 Telugu Hit Streak Continues

Adivi Sesh is set to lead two new romantic dramas after the success of Dacoit, while also preparing for G2, the sequel to Goodachari. Dacoit ranks among the top five Telugu box office earners of 2026 so far, giving Sesh a strong base to switch genres without leaving action behind.

The action thriller Dacoit was produced on a reported budget of ₹65 crore. Despite this scale, the film recovered costs for all involved within two weeks of release. The performance is seen as an example of controlled budgeting in big commercial cinema, reinforcing Sesh’s reputation for picking efficient yet ambitious projects.

Known largely for tense thrillers and fast-paced stories, Sesh is now moving toward romance-focused narratives. After completing work on G2, Sesh will headline two romantic dramas. The shift marks a clear change from the action-heavy characters that audiences associate with the actor, while keeping his commercial presence steady.

The first of these romantic projects is directed by Sai Marthand. Sai Marthand is coming in after the successful debut Telugu film Little Hearts. The film’s reception has helped position Sai Marthand as a fresh voice in romantic storytelling, which adds interest to this collaboration with Sesh.

Even as the new romantic films move forward, Sesh’s action franchise stays active. Sesh will next appear in G2, described as a high-adrenaline continuation of Goodachari. The project is expected to retain the sleek, espionage-driven style that made Goodachari notable, ensuring Sesh maintains a strong foothold in action cinema.

Sesh reflects on Dacoit and the current phase, stating, "Dacoit has been an incredibly rewarding journey, especially because of the love it has received from audiences. But as an actor, I've always believed in the importance of not getting too comfortable in one space."

Explaining the creative pull toward romance, Sesh says, "Over the last few years, I've explored intense, high-stakes narratives, and I'm grateful for how strongly they've connected. At the same time, I've been feeling a strong pull towards stories that are more intimate and emotionally driven. Romance, when done right, can be incredibly powerful and deeply relatable."

On why these two scripts stood out, Sesh adds, "These two scripts really stood out to me because they approach love and relationships in very different ways. They're not just love stories, they're about people, vulnerability, and the choices that define us. That's something I'm very excited to explore as an actor."

Balancing both action and romance, Sesh explains, "I don't see it as a shift away from action, but rather an expansion of what I want to do. G2 is very much in that high-octane space, but these romantic dramas allow me to tap into a completely different emotional spectrum. As an actor, that's the kind of diversity I've been seeking."
