Munawar Faruqui Appears To Mock Samay Raina As Pranit More Controversy Continues To Trend: Comedians Should…
Stand-up comics are again under sharp public glare. After rows around Munawar Faruqui and Samay Raina, Pranit More now faces heat. A viral “Rs. 370 ki biryani” clip triggered this latest uproar. Munawar has reacted online with pointed, sarcastic posts.

Munawar first posted on X, formerly Twitter. He wrote, “I checked on Google. Most expensive Biriyani?” He then added another line soon after. “Result: Please check with Pranit More.” Many users saw this as a clear jibe.
Munawar questions crowdwork style
The “biryani” row began from Pranit’s crowdwork set. In the clip, an audience member spoke about a date. He said he spent Rs. 370 on biryani. He then made remarks that drew heavy outrage online.

Munawar did not stop at one joke. He next suggested legal checks for comics. He wrote, “Comedians should get their videos edited from Lawyers.” He added, “Not all comics, only few who dont write jokes and depends on the audiences.” Many saw this as a swipe at crowdwork.
His line seemed to hit comics who rely on crowd banter. Crowdwork uses live audience interactions on stage. The jokes are not fully written before shows. The style has grown popular on social media. It also brings higher risk during sensitive topics.
Another post by Munawar also drew attention. He later deleted that one from his feed. It seemed to target fellow comic Samay Raina. Munawar wrote, “Bhai yeh Biriyani wala toh Comedy Special me bhi defend karna mushkil hoga.” Many felt this mocked comics explaining controversies on specials.
Munawar later added one more sharp comment. He urged viewers to “stop calling it a comedy show.” That line deepened the going debate. It raised questions about responsibility and limits. Fans and critics argued over humour and harm.
The storm around Pranit began with one audience member. In the viral video, Himanshu Jangra spoke on stage. He implied he expected physical intimacy after biryani. He said this after spending Rs. 370 on chicken biryani. Many online users flagged this as misogynistic.
Pranit laughed during the set and reacted on stage. He called the bit “Peak Gurgaon content” in the clip. That reaction also drew sharp criticism online. Soon another controversial video spread. It featured Dr. Sejal Pawar in a different segment.
Both Pranit and Sejal later issued public apologies. However, the backlash did not die down quickly. The row kept growing across platforms. Pranit then deactivated his Instagram account. Maharashtra Cyber Cell also filed an FIR against several people linked to the case.
