What? Comedy Nights Live Maker Wants Upasana Singh To Sign Contract To Clear Her Pending Dues!

Looks like, nothing is going right for the makers of Comedy Nights Live. Initially it was said that the show would shut down as the TRPs are going down, but the host of the show Krushna Abhishek denied the rumours. Later, the permanent guest, Mika Singh left the show (there are also rumours that he was kicked out of the show as he appeared on rival channel), and recently Bua aka Upasana Singh quits the show.

Upasana. also opened up on the issue, why she quit the show. She was miffed with the makers of the show as they didn't clear her pending dues. What made her angry was - the makers asked her to sign the contract even after quitting the show. Vipul Shah of Optimystix Entertainment, which produces CNL calls Upasana's accusations as a 'selfish view'.

Vipul was quoted by Mid-Day as saying, "Upasanaji spoke to her celebrity manager and the show's director about not having great lines in the show. When we took over from 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' and started 'Comedy Nights Live', she was the only member from the previous show who stayed back."

When asked about the contract that they demanded her to sign, he said, "It has been with her since long, but she hasn't signed it yet. People often negotiate certain terms and that takes time. Also, there is no 'We can throw you out of the show in 24 hours' clause in the contract. We can't fire anyone in 24 hours. We don't want to give this matter too much importance."

He further added that he would clear her pending dues, but for that she has to sign the contract, first!

Upasana says that there is no work satisfaction at CNL.

They delayed her payment. She added, “It's more than five months when the show went off-air but you will be shocked to know I have been only paid for 2 days.”
She was quoted by India Today as saying, “I feel they roped me in just because they wanted someone who had worked in Kapil's show before to help them get a good TRP.”
She added that they had promised her a lot of things about her portrayal, but did not fulfill even a single commitment!
They didn’t give her the agreement even after four months of working with them. And finally when they gave it, there were so many terms and conditions that she couldn't believe.
One of the contract said, ‘they could kick me out of the show in 24 hours.’
Another contract was that she ‘can't do any other comedy show after this.’ What like really!! Her main genre is ‘comedy’, how can they make such a contract?
Upasana says working with Optimystix has been the worst experience of her career and will never work for them in future.
She added that she will not sign the contract. If they don’t pay her, she will drag them to the court.
She cleared that she has not quit the show to join Kapil Sharma's show. But if something meaty is offered to her, she would love to be a part of Kapil’s show.
