Jana Nayagan opened with solid numbers on Thursday, setting the cash registers jingly. However, the film slowed down on the second day as it witnessed a drop of 50 percent.

Despite the drop in numbers in India, the highly-anticipated flick crossed a major early milestone at the worldwide box office. The film minted ₹21.15 crore net in India on its first Friday across 12,190 shows, taking its total India net collection to ₹63.85 crore, according to a report in Sacnilk.

Although the film saw a massive 50.5% fall from its opening day net of ₹42.70 crore, it continued to grab eyeballs. Guess what? The India gross collections now stand at ₹75 crore, while the overseas market added ₹10 crore on Friday.

Wondering how much the movie earned overseas? According to Sacnilk's website, overseas gross touched ₹37.50 crore, pushing its worldwide total to ₹112.50 crore.

The H. Vinoth directorial failed to cross the Rs 50-crore mark on the first day in India, but still raked in big moolah. Both occupancy and earnings reduced on the second day as the movie saw a steep decrease in terms of footfalls.
