G.D.N Official Trailer Released: R. Madhavan Leads Biopic On 'Edison of India' G.D. Naidu
G.D.N Trailer Released: The makers of G.D.N, the upcoming Tamil biographical drama based on the life of noted inventor and industrial pioneer G.D. Naidu, unveiled the film's official trailer on July 4. Headlined by R. Madhavan, the film is directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and is backed by Varghese Moolan Pictures in association with Tricolour Films.
The trailer introduces audiences to the life of Gopalaswamy Doraiswamy Naidu, popularly known as G.D. Naidu, who earned the nickname "Edison of India" for his contributions to engineering, manufacturing and innovation. Rather than presenting a conventional cradle-to-grave biopic, G.D.N focuses on a defining chapter from Naidu's life, highlighting the obstacles he encountered while pursuing technological progress in pre-Independence India.
The nearly three-minute trailer offers a glimpse into Naidu's journey as an inventor and industrial pioneer. It depicts the challenges he faced while pursuing technological innovation, his confrontations with the British administration, and his decision to destroy several of his own inventions in his later years. The trailer also hints at his personal life and the events that shaped his legacy.
G.D.N is inspired by real incidents from Naidu's life instead of attempting to chronicle every phase of his journey. The story centres on his determination to continue innovating despite institutional hurdles and opposition from authorities who sought to prevent his ideas from reaching a wider audience. The makers describe the film as a drama built around resilience, conviction and the personal cost of pursuing innovation ahead of its time.
