Satluj: Here's How Much Diljit Dosanjh Charged For Jaswant Singh Khalra's Biopic

Satluj Diljit Dosanjh Fees: Diljit Dosanjh is one of the few actors in industry who is known for wearing his heart on the sleeves. The singer turned actor has created history by bringing Punjab and Punjabi at the global stage and has often been vocal about the issues of Punjab. And now, Diljit has been creating waves for his recent release which brings another story from Punjab. We are talking about Satluj, (earlier titled as Punjab 95), which is a biopic on Jaswant Singh Khalra who was a human right activist from Punjab.

For the uninitiated, Jaswant Singh Khalra had created headlines for his investigation of 25000 illegal killings in Punjab by the police post the assassination of Indira Gandhi along with three other cases. Khalra was later allegedly abducted by police personnel in September 1995 and the mystery around his abduction and killing grabbed a lot of eyeballs. As renowned director Honey Trehan brought the story of Jaswant Singh Khalra with Satluj, Diljit won left everyone dumbstruck with his performance. However, soon after the movie had premiered online, it was removed by Zee5 within 48 hours of release.

Diljit Dosanjh's Fees For Satluj Revealed

In an interview with Sucharita Tyagi, director Honey Trehan revealed that Diljit didn't charge any money for Satluj. He stated, "Diljit Dosanjh never asked a single rupee to play this role. Haath jod kar he said 'Waheguru ji, paaji kab aana hai kitthe karna hai, tusi bas dass do, main othe khada milonga'".

Satluj Removed From OTT Due To Unexplained Developments

Meanwhile, Satluj, which witnessed a guerrilla release on Zee5 on July 3, was removed from the platform abruptly. Zee5 even shared a note about the same which read as, "In light of the current developments, Satluj will be unavailable in India until further notice. We remain committed to exploring every appropriate avenue through due process to bring the film back to our audiences at the earliest". This post was captioned as, "Satluj may have paused. But the conversation it started hasn't. Thank you for the incredible love. We hope to bring it back soon".
