Balti OTT Release Date: When And Where To Watch Shane Nigam's Action Drama Film Online

Balti OTT Release Date: After its theatrical release last year, Balti is now set for its digital premiere. The Malayalam-Tamil bilingual action drama, written and directed by debutant Unni Sivalingam, was released in cinemas on September 26, 2025. Set along the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, the film combines action and drama while exploring themes of friendship, ambition and the consequences of becoming involved in organised crime.

The film stars Shane Nigam in the lead role alongside Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Preethi Asrani. Alphonse Puthren and Poornima Indrajith appear in supporting roles. As the story is set along the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, the film features dialogues in both Malayalam and Tamil. It also marked Shanthanu Bhagyaraj's return to Malayalam cinema after a gap of 16 years.

Balti follows Udhayan, a skilled kabaddi player popularly known as "Balti," whose world revolves around his mother and his close circle of friends in the village of Velampalayam. Their lives take an unexpected turn after winning a local kabaddi tournament, which brings them to the attention of Porthamarai Bhairavan, an influential financier with deep links to illegal lending and land-related dealings.

As Udhayan and his friends become increasingly involved in Bhairavan's network, they find themselves facing difficult choices that test their relationships, personal values and ambitions. With the stakes continuing to rise, Udhayan must navigate a series of challenges while dealing with the consequences of decisions that gradually pull him deeper into a dangerous world.

The film was jointly produced by Santhosh T. Kuruvilla under STK Frames and Binu George Alexander under Binu George Alexander Productions. Sai Abhyankkar composed the music and original score in his feature film debut, while Alex J. Pulickal handled cinematography and Shivkumar V. Panicker served as the editor. The supporting technical team also included creative director Vava Nujumudeen, art director Ashik S., audiographer Vishnu Govind and action directors Action Sandhosh and Vicky.

Viewers who missed Balti during its theatrical run will soon be able to stream the film online. Balti is scheduled to premiere on SonyLIV on July 10, 2026. The film will be available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, allowing audiences across multiple language markets to watch it on the streaming platform.

With its OTT release arriving several months after its theatrical debut, Balti will now be accessible to a wider home audience. Those interested in action dramas centred on friendship, crime and moral conflict can watch the film on SonyLIV from July 10.
