Balan Box Office Collection Day 7: The Malayalam psychological thriller Balan: The Boy has completed its first week in theatres with a steady run at the box office. Released on June 19, the film has continued to register collections through its opening week and is now approaching the ₹22 crore mark worldwide. As the film entered Day 8 (Friday, June 26), attention has shifted to how it performs over the second weekend.

Balan Box Office Day 7 Nears 22 Cr Worldwide

According to trade estimates reported by box office tracking website Sacnilk, Balan: The Boy collected an estimated ₹0.96 crore India net on Day 7 (Thursday) from 886 shows. With this, the film's total India net collection has reached ₹11.27 crore, while its India gross stands at ₹13.06 crore after seven days in theatres.

The film has also maintained a steady performance in overseas markets. Its cumulative overseas gross has reached ₹8.85 crore, taking the worldwide gross collection to ₹21.91 crore by the end of its first week. The latest figures place the film within touching distance of the ₹22 crore milestone globally.

The film enjoyed its strongest collections during its opening weekend. It opened with ₹1.82 crore on its first Friday before rising to ₹2.35 crore on Saturday. Sunday turned out to be the biggest day of its run so far, with collections touching ₹2.90 crore, supported by improved occupancy during the weekend.

As expected, collections slowed after the weekend. The film earned ₹1.15 crore on Monday, followed by ₹1.11 crore on Tuesday. Wednesday contributed ₹0.98 crore, while Thursday remained largely stable with ₹0.96 crore, indicating that the film has maintained a relatively consistent weekday trend heading into its second weekend.

Occupancy on Thursday stood at 26 per cent across 886 shows, suggesting that the film continued to draw audiences despite the usual weekday decline seen after the opening weekend.

Balan: The Boy Story, Cast And Crew

Directed by Chidambaram, Balan: The Boy is produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films. The cast includes Adhisheshan, Farzana Palathingal, Muhammad Zinaan, Tovino Thomas, Jean Paul Lal, Girish A. D., and Beena Antony.

The psychological thriller centres on a mother and son whose lives are shaped by long-held secrets and painful choices. As hidden truths from the past begin to surface, the two are forced to confront unresolved events that test their relationship while leading them on a search for truth and redemption.

The screenplay has been written by Jithu Madhavan, while Shyju Khalid serves as the director of photography. The film features music composed by Sushin Shyam, with editing handled by Vivek Harshan and production design by Ajayan Chalissery.

Having completed its opening week, Balan: The Boy will now look to benefit from the ongoing Friday and the upcoming weekend. Its performance over the next few days is expected to determine how strongly the Malayalam thriller sustains its theatrical run in the weeks ahead.
