Sureshgopi seeks luck in Telugu

After a gap of 20 years, Malayalam superstar Sureshgopi is acting in his second straight Telugu film, titled Aa Okkadu. Though not the main hero, Sureshgopi will play a crucial role in this film produced by Ganapati Raju Indukuri under the banner of Tolly 2 Holly, directed by debutant M.S. Murthy with Ajay and Madhurima in the lead.

In addition to his only Telugu film Antima Theerpu (1988), Sureshgopi is familiar to Telugu audiences with dubbed versions of his Malayalam blockbusters Commissioner (1994), Bharath Chandran IPS (2005), Pathram (1999) and Chinthamani Kola Case (2006). According to sources, he is the actor with the maximum number of Malayalam films dubbed in Telugu.

Planned as a suspense thriller, Aa Okkadu revolves around seven interesting characters. Mani Sharma has scored the music. This film was earlier scheduled to begin in October 2008 but was delayed due to some reasons. The crew has already completed 60% of the shooting and the rest will be completed shortly.

The unit of the film met the media at the Cinemax recently to detail its progress. Sureshgopi, director M.S. Murthy, Ajay and Madhurima were among those present.
