According to Superdeporte, the 57-year-old confirmed his resignation during a brief media appearance at the team's base in Zapopan, Mexico, where he also issued a public apology.

The former South Korean captain resigned on Sunday, just a day after the team's exit and amid mounting criticism, including condemnation from the country's president.
