K. Bhagyaraj (Krishnaswamy Bhagyaraj) was one of the most celebrated filmmaker-actors in Indian cinema, widely regarded as the "Screenplay King" of Tamil cinema for his exceptional storytelling and screenplay writing. Born on January 7, 1953, in Erode, Tamil Nadu, Bhagyaraj began his film career as an assistant director under legendary filmmaker Bharathiraja.
