Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai: Varun's Film To Clash With Ram Charan's Peddi? Here's What Producer Has To Say

Varun Dhawan's Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is set to arrive in cinemas on 5 June, directly clashing with Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor's Peddi, expected on 4 June. Despite the back‑to‑back schedule, producer Ramesh Taurani confirms the Varun Dhawan film will not change its date again.

Taurani addressed the clash while speaking to Hindustan Times and said box office overlaps are now routine. Taurani remarked, "Ab kya kar sakte hain, kuchh nahi. Koi na koi toh aayega hi. There are 52 weeks in a year; someone will clash. It's okay." When asked if he might move the film, Taurani replied, "Not at all."

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, featuring Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde with Varun Dhawan, has already travelled through several calendar changes. The romantic drama was first announced for 5 June. Its journey since then has mirrored a wider industry pattern, where big productions keep adjusting plans to avoid competing with other star‑driven releases.

The first major shift came after Yash locked 4 June for Toxic, prompting the Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai team to avoid clashing with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2. The makers delayed the Varun Dhawan film to 12 June. Later, in a surprise update, they advanced the release to 22 May, placing it weeks before the original slot.

On 29 April, Varun Dhawan shared a fresh poster and clarified that Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai would again move back to 5 June. This reset followed Yash's detailed social media note, which confirmed that Toxic would no longer arrive on 4 June. With Toxic stepping away, Taurani's team reverted to the first planned date.

Peddi, starring Ram Charan opposite Janhvi Kapoor, has faced its own reshuffle. According to 123 Telugu, the film is now being lined up for 4 June, marking the third postponement. The makers have not yet issued an official announcement, but this tentative schedule places Peddi immediately before Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai in cinemas.

Both Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and Peddi have therefore moved repeatedly through the year. The current plan positions Peddi on 4 June and the Varun Dhawan film on 5 June, if the tentative date holds. Taurani's stance suggests the Hindi release calendar for early June 2026 is likely to stay fixed now.
