Delhi Student Protest Update: A video featuring veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah and his sons, Imaad Shah and Vivaan Shah, is being widely shared on social media with claims that they were present at the CJP-led 'Chalo Sansad' protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. The clip has led many users to believe that the actor had joined the demonstration in support of protesting students. However, the claim is false.

A closer look at the video and its original source confirms that it has no connection with the protest taking place in Delhi.

VIRAL VIDEO WAS SHOT IN MUMBAI, NOT AT JANTAR MANTAR

The video doing the rounds online was actually recorded outside Regal Cinema in Colaba, Mumbai, after a film screening. It features Naseeruddin Shah along with his son Vivaan Shah as they were leaving the venue.

The original clip was uploaded by Instagram user Rajesh Gaur on July 15. In the uncropped version, the surroundings clearly show Regal Cinema, along with movie posters for Raja Shivaji and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. These details make it clear that the video was filmed in Mumbai.

However, the versions now being shared on social media have cropped out the background. Without those visual clues, many users wrongly assumed that the actor was standing at the CJP protest site in Delhi.

The confusion grew because the old video started circulating again around the same time the 'Chalo Sansad' protest was taking place at Jantar Mantar.

WHAT SOCIAL MEDIA CLAIMS ABOUT NASEERUDDIN SHAH VIRAL PIC?

Several posts claimed that Naseeruddin Shah, along with his sons Imaad and Vivaan Shah, had attended the protest in solidarity with students raising their voice over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak issue. Some users even wrote that the actor was quietly standing among the crowd to show his support.

There is no evidence to support these claims. The viral video was not recorded in Delhi and does not show the actor attending the protest.

NASEERUDDIN SHAH DID SUPPORT THE CAUSE, BUT IN A DIFFERENT WAY

Although Naseeruddin Shah was not physically present at the CJP protest, he did express support for the students through a public appeal.

Along with his wife Ratna Pathak Shah and several others, the veteran actor urged activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike, citing concerns about his health. At the same time, the appeal supported the students' demands regarding the alleged NEET-UG irregularities and also called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

This public statement appears to have added to the confusion online, with some users incorrectly linking Shah's support for the issue to the unrelated Mumbai video.
