EXCLUSIVE! Chakori Dwivedi On Working In Aamir Khan's Ek Din, Shooting In Japan, Learning From Meenu & More
Chakori Dwivedi interview: At Filmibeat, we love interacting with artists who are passionate about their craft. If you have watched Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan's Ek Din, I am sure you fell in love with Meenu's character. As we caught up with Chakori Dwivedi, we engaged in a meaningful discussion about her role in Aamir Khan Productions' film.

The actress and writer is basking in the praise from all corners following her impactful performance in Ek Din. In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Assistant Editor Abhishek Ranjit, Chakori spoke about her experience working on the film, shooting in Japan, her dream of sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan, her aspirations as a filmmaker and a lot more.
Working In Aamir Khan's Film, Sharing Screenspace With Sai Pallavi
Chakori is on cloud nine as she got to work in a film that has been backed by Aamir Khan. "It's like a dream come true. I am elated as I got an opportunity to be a part of a project which has been produced by Aamir sir. He knows the craft and is passionate about cinema," she said.
"Shooting with Sai Pallavi was a learning experience in itself as you get to learn so much from an artist with such great calibre. I loved her professionalism and dedication towards her work," Chakori stated.
What Ek Din Character Meenu Taught Her: Biggest Takeway As Artist
Talking about her character Meenu in Ek Din, Chakori shared that the role came with its own set of learnings.
"Meenu exists in a grey space. She likes to gossip, but she's not a harmful person. If you're someone who likes to observe and listen, that can actually become a strength if you use it to communicate better."
However, her biggest takeaway from the project went beyond the character itself.
"Working on Ek Din taught me that it truly takes a village to bring a film to life. Every department matters-the actors, director, cinematographer, and production team. Understanding how this machinery works and learning to be an ensemble player was my biggest lesson."
A Dream Come True In Japan
One of the highlights of the project was getting the opportunity to shoot in Japan, something Chakori describes as magical.
"Shooting a Bollywood song in sub-zero temperatures felt surreal. We grew up watching actors dance on foreign streets in films, and suddenly, I was living that experience myself. It was a full-circle moment."
The actress was particularly impressed by Japanese culture and work ethic.
"The people of Japan are incredibly warm and deeply attached to their country. I remember accidentally spilling coffee on set and several people immediately rushed to clean it up. They treat public spaces and workplaces as if they are their own homes. That sense of accountability was truly inspiring," she quipped.
