Alpha Box Office Collection Day 1: Alia-Sharvari's Film Fails To Hit Double Digit; Mints 69% Less Than War 2

Alpha Box Office Collection Day 1: Alia Bhatt starrer Alpha has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year for several reasons. To begin with, the movie, which is helmed by debutant Shiv Rawail, brings Alia back on the screen after two years. Produced by Yash Raj Films, Alpha also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Sharvari. The movie marks Alia's first collaboration with the trio and the stellar cast have added to the excitement.

Interestingly, Alpha marks Alia's entry in YRF's spy universe which has movies like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2. Alpha presented Alia in a never seen before avatar and while the movie has been creating massive buzz in the town, it opened to mixed response from the audience and critics. To note, Alpha failed to touch double digits at the box office and made a collection of Rs 9cr on day 1 (first Friday) in India.

Interestingly, with a collection of Rs 9cr, Alpha had made an opening day collection which is 68.9% less that YRF Spy Universe's last release War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, which earned Rs 29cr for the Hindi version. To note, Alpha has become the lowest opener of YRF's spy universe. On the other hand, Alpha has also become Sharvari's highest opener ever.

Meanwhile, talking about Alpha in a report published in Bollywood Hungama, Alia stated, "I had such a good time making Alpha. It's probably one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had on a film set. There was something really exciting about stepping into this world of action, scale and adventure. It pushed me in ways I hadn't experienced before and I loved every bit of it. What I loved most was that at the heart of it were two women leading all the action. We don't get to see that very often and I had a lot of fun being part of that. Alpha is a celebration of attitude and a celebration at the movie".
