Kalki 2 Starts Rolling: Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan Reunite: The second installment of Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD started rolling recently. The second installment of the dystopian epic film, which is reportedly Kalki 2898 AD 2, also marks the reunion of legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. The iconic duo is set to have an onscreen reunion after a long gap of 40 years, with the film.

Recently, some million-dollar pictures from the location of Kalki 2898 AD 2 left the cinephiles excited. Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary superstar who plays Ashwatthama in the Prabhas starrer, recently took to his official Tumblr handle and confirmed that the filming of the second installment has begun. He also shared pictures with Kamal Haasan, who plays Supreme Yaskin, the antagonist in the film.

"Meeting up with the great KAMAL HAASAN... We shall be working together after ages... last in Giraftar... Kalki 2 begun the work... and shall ever cherish the love and affection of anticipated presence on the Sunday... but hopefully shall be with all this coming Sunday..," reads the post of Bollywood's biggest superstar. In the pictures, Amitabh Bachchan is seen in the Ashwatthama costume, while Kamal Haasan sports a casual look.

As you may know, Amitabh Bachchan made a full-fledged appearance as Ashwatthama in Kalki 2898 AD, while Kamal Haasan made a cameo appearance as antagonist Supreme Yaskin. However, the legendary actors have not shared the screen in the Kalki universe, yet. But in Kalki 2, the Ulaganayagan is expected to share the screen with both the Bollywood superstar, and leading man Prabhas.

Kalki 2 Star Cast

Prabhas will return to play the role of Bhairava aka Karna, in the upcoming sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. Sai Pallavi has reportedly replaced Deepika Padukone in the sequel as SUM80 aka the mother of the Kalki. Amitabh Bachchan reprises the role of Ashwatthama, while Kamal Haasan returns to play the role of Supreme Yaskin, the antagonist. More updates on Nag Ashwin's film are expected to be revealed very soon.
