Mother's Day 2026 | Vibhav Roy Gets Candid About Being An 'Unapologetic' Mama's Boy: I Share Everything...

For actor Vibhav Roy, Mother's Day isn't about extravagant gifts or social media posts. It's about long conversations and unconditional love.

Vibhav Roy Gets Candid About Being An Unapologetic

"My mom isn't just a source of support in my life - she is my entire life," Vibhav shares. "My day begins with talking to her in the morning and ends with talking to her at night. I share everything with her: my emotional struggles, mental health challenges, love life issues, and professional problems. She knows every part of my life."

The actor, who proudly calls himself a mama's boy, adds, "I'm unapologetically a mama's boy, and I consider that one of my greatest blessings. She is the best sounding board because no one is more invested in me than she is. In many ways, she has a bigger stake in my happiness and success than I do myself. I genuinely believe there is no one in the world who will care for you and love you as deeply as your mother."

Reminiscing about his childhood Mother's Day traditions, Vibhav gets nostalgic. "One of my fondest Mother's Day memories from childhood is our annual family lunch with three generations together - my nani, my mom, my sister, and me," he says.

"My sister, who is three years older than me, has always been like a second mother. Since my mom was working, my sister often stepped in and took care of me, so I've been incredibly fortunate to grow up surrounded by so much love from all three of them."

And food was always at the center of it. "My nani was very fond of South Indian food, so I vividly remember us going to Sagar Ratna for dosas and idlis. Those lunches were simple, warm, and full of love, and they remain some of my most cherished childhood memories."

With a packed shoot schedule, Vibhav won't be home this Mother's Day. But that doesn't dampen his plans.

"This year, I'll be shooting on Mother's Day, so unfortunately I won't be able to celebrate with my mom in person. But that doesn't really change much, because we're in constant touch anyway," he explains. "We'll celebrate over a FaceTime call, and I'll definitely make it a point to spend a little extra time talking to her throughout the day whenever I get a break."

For Vibhav, it's the daily connection that matters. "For us, it's never really about grand gestures. Our relationship is built on conversation and connection, so even a long phone call with her feels like the perfect way to celebrate Mother's Day."

The actor gets emotional when speaking about his mother's influence on his life. "My mom owns the credit. Whatever I am today, and whatever I may become in the future, is because of my mom. Every value I hold, every bit of strength I have, and every good quality people see in me comes from her," he says.

He's quick to add, "If there are any flaws or shortcomings in me, those are entirely my own. My mother has nothing to do with them."

So what's his biggest life goal? "If I can become even five percent of the human being my mom is, I'll consider my life well lived. She is the benchmark I aspire to, both as a person and as a son."

Vibhav made his TV debut with Gustakh Dil. He went on to feature in Doli Armaano Ki, Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan, Meri Saas Bhoot Hai, Shaitani Rasmein. He also appeared in films like Padmaavat, Redrum - A Tale of Murder, Lashtam Pashtam. He also appeared in Web Series like Fuh Se Fantasy, Hello Mini, Pyar Ishq Rent, Bar Code among others.
