Vijay Once Spoke About Son Jason Sanjay And Fatherhood; Old Remarks Resurface After Tamil Nadu CM Swearing-In

Vijay's Earlier Comments On Son Jason Sanjay: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay continues to be at the centre of both political and personal discussions following his swearing-in on Sunday. As the actor-turned-politician prepares to face a floor test in the Assembly on May 13, an earlier interview in which he spoke about fathers, family relationships and his son's future has resurfaced online.

Vijay s Old Remarks On Son Jason Sanjay Resurface

The renewed attention comes days after Vijay took oath as Chief Minister after TVK emerged as the single largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. However, the absence of his estranged wife Sankgeetha and children, Jason Sanjay and Dhivya Sasha, at the ceremony drew considerable attention on social media and political circles alike.

As conversations around Vijay's personal life intensified, many online users began revisiting comments he had made during the promotions of Beast in 2022. According to NDTV, which quoted Vijay's interview with Sun TV, the TVK leader had then opened up about his relationship with his father, filmmaker S. A. Chandrasekhar, and also addressed questions about his son Sanjay's career plans.

Vijay's Remarks On Fatherhood And Son Jason Sanjay Resurface

The interview had come at a time when Vijay and his father were reportedly going through differences after S. A. Chandrasekhar attempted to launch a political outfit linked to Vijay's fan base without the actor's approval. Vijay had publicly distanced himself and his fan clubs from the initiative at the time.

Speaking about fathers during the interaction, Vijay had said that many people fail to recognise the importance of fathers until later in life. Drawing a comparison between fathers and the roots of a tree, he noted that while people admire what is visible, they often overlook the foundation supporting it. He also remarked that many qualities appreciated in children are inherited from their parents.

In the same conversation, Vijay spoke about giving his son complete freedom in choosing a profession. Responding to questions about whether Sanjay would enter films, Vijay had stated that he never wanted to impose career decisions on his children. He had also revealed that several filmmakers had approached him regarding his son's acting debut, but Sanjay was not interested in pursuing it at that point.

The resurfaced interview has gained fresh traction at a politically significant moment for Vijay. The newly sworn-in Chief Minister is set to seek a vote of confidence in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly on Wednesday. TVK currently depends on the support of alliance partners including Congress, VCK, IUML and Left parties to maintain a majority in the House.

Ahead of the floor test, Vijay also met former Chief Minister M. K. Stalin at his Chennai residence. Meanwhile, TVK MLA JCD Prabhakar was elected unopposed as the new Speaker of the Assembly on Tuesday.
