KH x RK Update: Nelson To Take A Different Route For Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth Starrer? The legendary superstar and multi-faceted talent of Tamil cinema, are reuniting after a long gap of 46 years. Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth's upcoming project, which has been tentatively titled KH x RK, recently had its grand launch. Reportedly, director Nelson Dilipkumar is about to take a bold, different route for KH x RK.

If the recent rumours are to be believed, director Nelson Dilipkumar and director of photography Rajiv Menon are planning to take a different route for KH x RK. According to the grapevine, the director-cinematographer duo is planning to ditch the modern day digital shooting methods, and are planning to retro, with the upcoming Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth starrer.

According to the recent reports by Touring Talkies channel, the KH x RK Reunion film will be entirely shot in a film camera. Yes, you read it right. The rumour mills suggest that director Nelson and DOP Rajiv Menon are keen to shoot the film in a film camera, which was widely used during the 1980s and 1990s, in cinema.

Interestingly, the director and cinematographer were planning to shoot the highly celebrated KH x RK promo video in the same format. However, Nelson Dilipkumar and Rajiv Menon were force to ditch that idea in the last minute, due to the time constraints. However, they are planning to execute this big dream of their for the main shooting of the film, with proper planning.

Anirudh Ravichander is set to compose the songs and original score for KH x RK, which is expected to go on floors by the last quarter of 2026. The casting for the project is reportedly progressing on a full swing, and we can expect major updates on the same, in a few weeks. The Nelson directorial is bankrolled by Red Giant Movies.
