Karuppu Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 1 (Morning Trend): The action drama Karuppu has finally reached cinemas, giving Suriya the first major release of 2026. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film features Suriya in a double role, marking the 45th lead film of the actor. Karuppu also reunites Suriya and Trisha Krishnan on screen after more than two decades, adding strong buzz among Tamil cinema audiences. The road to release was uneven, with shows unexpectedly cancelled on May 14 because of financial issues. Screenings started after that disruption, and interest has stayed high as fans track how Karuppu performs at the worldwide box office. The film arrives with heavy expectations due to the star power, controversies around delays and wide coverage in entertainment circles.

Karuppu is backed by Dream Warrior Pictures, with RJ Balaji handling both direction and acting duties. The cast includes Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy and Yogi Babu in important parts. Posters and trailers highlight gritty action sequences and intense drama, which have helped build curiosity among viewers across India, especially regular followers of Tamil films. Suriya and Trisha Krishnan last shared the screen in Mounam Pesiyadhe in 2002, Aayutha Ezhuthu in 2004 and Aaru in 2005. All three films still enjoy popularity among fans, which explains the interest around their latest pairing in Karuppu. With a familiar on-screen duo, an ensemble cast and strong visuals, the film's release has drawn wide attention as its worldwide box office opening gets closely watched.

But he is also an amazing friend, father and team leader. I really liked spending time with him".
