As per a tweet going viral on the microblogging site Twitter from a user based in UAE and Pakistan, Karuppu failed to meet the expectations. The Twitter user called the movie 'disastrous' with a rating of 1.5 stars and tweeted, "It's an atrociously terrible movie".

Karuppu Shows Cancelled - Will It Release Today?

As Karuppu has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs for its starcast and plot, the movie is now making headlines for some last minute financial struggles. According to media reports, the 9 AM shows of Karuppu have been cancelled at several places including Tamil Nadu and even in abroad. This has undoubtedly led to speculations about the delay Karuppu release.

In fact, producer S R Prabhu had tweeted, "Due to unavoidable reasons 9am shows will be cancelled for Karuppu. Our sincere apologies to everyone!". On the other hand, director RJ Balaji is confident that Karuppu will hit the screens today itself. Reacting to the speculations, he tweeted, "Dearest fans, I dont have a concrete answer to the current situation. Producers are doing their best to solve the hurdles. This film has always had hurdles, and somehow God has made us sail through all that and here we are after 32 months.
