Karuppu (Kerala) Release Date: Suriya's Film To Release Tomorrow Amid Cancelled Shows? Here's What We Know
Karuppu (Kerala) Release Date Update: The planned worldwide release of Suriya's Karuppu on 14 May did not take place as scheduled, leaving audiences disappointed. Paid premieres and early morning shows are cancelled just before opening. Confused viewers reach theatres to find screenings stopped, while industry discussions point to major financial issues blocking the film's rollout in Tamil Nadu. Karuppu is Suriya's first theatrical outing of the year, so expectations among fans and trade circles stayed high. The delay affects heavy advance bookings across several centres. Theatre owners, who had prepared for strong opening numbers, now wait for fresh instructions, as the release stalemate continues without a clear revised schedule.

Amid the uncertainty, director RJ Balaji shared an emotional video on social media and addresses the situation directly. RJ Balaji appears visibly upset and speaks about the stress caused to viewers. The director also tries to reassure fans that efforts are underway behind the scenes to clear hurdles holding back the Suriya Karuppu release. RJ Balaji says, "I am really hopeful the issues will be resolved by 6 PM this evening. I am manifesting for Karuppu to be released on May 14 and for it to become a blockbuster. I am very hopeful. A lot of people have let go of so many things. Suriya sir has given so much. So, sorry for the delay. Sorry for making you go through all this stress. But it'll all be worth it when the film releases this evening".
