Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 3: Suriya Film Crosses ₹120 Cr Worldwide After Strong Opening Weekend

Karuppu Box Office Collection: The Tamil action drama Karuppu, starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, continued its theatrical run on a strong note during its opening weekend. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film recorded growth on its third day in theatres and has now crossed the ₹120 crore mark globally within three days of release.

Released worldwide on May 15, 2026, Karuppu opened with a strong response in Tamil Nadu and also performed across Telugu-speaking regions through its dubbed version. The film is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures and features a supporting cast including Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada and Supreeth Reddy.

According to trade tracking website Sacnilk, Karuppu collected an estimated India net total of ₹28.35 crore on Day 3 (Sunday). The film reportedly ran across 6,843 shows nationwide and registered an overall occupancy of 64.3 percent during the day. With this, the film's total India net collection has reached ₹68 crore after three days in theatres, while the India gross stands at ₹78.75 crore.

The Tamil version continued to dominate the film's business on Sunday. Reports suggest the Tamil release contributed around ₹24.20 crore to the Day 3 total with an occupancy rate of 73 percent across 5,048 shows. The Telugu version added approximately ₹4.15 crore from 1,795 shows, recording around 40 percent occupancy.

The film had opened with ₹15.50 crore net in India on Friday before witnessing a significant jump on Saturday with ₹24.15 crore. Sunday further improved on the upward trend, helping the film close its opening weekend on a strong note ahead of its first weekday test on Monday, May 18.

Karuppu Worldwide Box Office Sees Strong Opening Weekend Surge

Overseas markets also contributed notably to the film's performance. Karuppu reportedly earned ₹13 crore gross internationally on Day 3, taking the total overseas collection to ₹42 crore. Combined with domestic earnings, the film's worldwide gross collection has now touched approximately ₹120.75 crore within its first weekend.

Karuppu is written by RJ Balaji along with Ashwin Ravichandran, Rahul Raj, T. S. Gopi Krishnan and Karan Aravind Kumar. The film's technical crew includes cinematographer G. K. Vishnu, editor R. Kalaivanan and music composer Sai Abhyankkar.
