Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 3 Early Update: Suriya's Film Crosses 50cr; Creates New Record
Karuppu Box Office Collection Day 3 Early Update: Karuppu has finally reached cinemas after a brief release scare, giving Suriya the first big launch of 2026. Early shows planned for 14 May were cancelled because of financial issues, which confused many fans. Screenings started soon after, and strong interest across India has helped the film open with visible momentum. The action drama presents Suriya in a double role and also marks the 45th lead film for the actor. Karuppu is tracked closely at the worldwide box office, as followers of Tamil cinema usually pay attention to Suriya's large-scale theatrical outings that blend mass elements with emotional storytelling.

A major talking point is the reunion of Suriya and Trisha Krishnan after more than two decades. The two last shared screen space in Mounam Pesiyadhe, Aayutha Ezhuthu and Aaru during the early 2000s. Those titles still enjoy a fan base, building extra curiosity around Karuppu and its on-screen pairing. Backed by Dream Warrior Pictures, Karuppu is directed by RJ Balaji, who also features in the cast. The film includes Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy and Yogi Babu in key roles. Posters and trailers have highlighted gritty action and intense drama, while media coverage of delays and star power keeps attention on Karuppu's theatrical run.

Meanwhile, talking about Karuppu, director RJ Balaji stated, "I don't want to overpromise and underdeliver. It is a very entertaining, mass masala film with Suriya sir we always love. Ayan, Singam... all the films that we have seen of him... so that is the Suriya sir I wanted to show in this film. The film is made for people of Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra... It is not made for people on social media. It is made for those who celebrate cinema in the darkness of cinema halls, not for those who do postmortems on social media. Not for them. This is for all of us to celebrate".
