Kara Box Office Collection Day 6: Dhanush's Film Crosses ₹27 Crore India Net, ₹41 Crore Worldwide
Kara Box Office Collection: The Tamil heist drama Kara, starring Dhanush in the lead role, continued its theatrical run with a stable performance on its sixth day at the box office. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the film released in cinemas on April 30, 2026, and has now completed nearly a week in theatres. As of Wednesday, May 6, the film has entered Day 7 of its run.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Kara earned an estimated ₹2 crore India net on Day 6 (Tuesday) across 3,322 shows. With this, the film's total India net collection has reached ₹27.15 crore. The India gross collection currently stands at ₹31.34 crore.
The overseas market added another ₹0.35 crore on Day 6, taking the film's international gross total to ₹10 crore so far. Combining domestic and overseas numbers, Kara has reportedly crossed ₹41 crore worldwide gross within six days of release.
The film opened with ₹6.20 crore on its first Thursday and witnessed a slight jump on Friday with ₹6.95 crore. Collections remained above the ₹5 crore mark over the weekend before dropping on Monday. Tuesday's figures showed a marginal improvement compared to Day 5.
The Tamil version remained the major contributor on Tuesday with approximately ₹1.55 crore net, while the Telugu dubbed version contributed around ₹0.45 crore. Both versions registered occupancy figures close to 17%.
About Kara: Cast, Storyline And Technical Crew
Set in Ramanathapuram in 1991, Kara unfolds against the backdrop of the Gulf War period and follows the journey of Karasaami over a span of 16 days. The story revolves around his attempts to confront unresolved issues from his past while dealing with the consequences of unexpected events around him.
Apart from Dhanush, the cast includes Mamitha Baiju, K.S. Ravikumar, Karunas, Jayaram, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, M.S. Baskar, Sreeja Ravi & Others.
The film has been produced by Vels Film International in association with Think Studios. Music for the film has been composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, while cinematography and editing were handled by Theni Eswar and Sreejith Sarang respectively.
