Patriot Box Office Collection Day 2: Mammootty-Mohanlal Film Hits ₹16 Cr India Net, Crosses ₹50 Cr Worldwide
Patriot Box Office Collection: The Malayalam action thriller Patriot, featuring Mammootty and Mohanlal in lead roles, has completed two days in theatres after its worldwide release on May 1, 2026. As the film enters Day 3 (Sunday, May 3), its box office performance reflects a strong opening followed by comparatively lower collections on its second day.

Written, directed, and co-edited by Mahesh Narayanan, the film is backed by producers Anto Joseph and K. G. Anil Kumar. With a multi-starrer cast, Patriot opened to solid numbers on its first day before witnessing a drop on Day 2.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film collected ₹6.15 crore (India net) on Day 2 (Saturday), bringing its total India net collection to ₹16.15 crore. The India gross currently stands at ₹18.73 crore. Overseas, Patriot added ₹15 crore on its second day, pushing its international gross to ₹31.50 crore. As a result, the film's total worldwide gross has reached ₹50.23 crore within two days of release.
On its opening day (Friday), Patriot registered ₹10 crore (India net) from 2,636 shows, with an occupancy of 66%. However, Day 2 collections dropped to ₹6.15 crore across 2,374 shows, with occupancy falling to 43%. Despite the decline, the film has managed to maintain a significant overall total in its initial phase.

The film features an extensive ensemble cast including Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Revathi and Darshana Rajendran in key roles, along with Rajiv Menon and several supporting actors.
Set against a backdrop involving national security and personal conflicts, the narrative follows multiple characters, including a defence research officer, an army colonel, and individuals connected through professional and personal ties. The storyline brings together intersecting arcs that unfold over the course of the film.
Technically, Patriot features music composed by Sushin Shyam, cinematography by Manush Nandan, and editing by Mahesh Narayanan alongside Rahul Radhakrishnan.
As the film moves into its third day, Sunday collections are expected to play a crucial role in determining its opening weekend total. The current trend indicates a strong start overall, though the coming days will be important in assessing whether the film can sustain its momentum at the box office.
