Athiradi Box Office Collection Day 4: Tovino Thomas And Basil Joseph Film Crosses ₹45 Cr Worldwide

Athiradi Box Office Collection: The Malayalam action-comedy Athiradi, starring Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph, continued its theatrical run with steady momentum during its extended opening weekend. Directed by Arun Anirudhan, the film has now crossed the ₹45 crore mark worldwide within four days of release.

Produced by Basil Joseph and Ananthu S, Athiradi had paid premiere screenings on May 13 ahead of its theatrical release on May 14, 2026. The film also features Vineeth Sreenivasan and Riya Shibu in key roles.

According to trade tracking website Sacnilk, Athiradi collected an estimated ₹5.60 crore net in India on Day 4 (Sunday). The film reportedly ran across 1,834 shows and registered an overall occupancy of 56 percent during the day. With the latest figures, the film's total India net collection has reached ₹21.02 crore, while the India gross stands at ₹24.38 crore after four days in theatres.

The film opened with paid premiere earnings of ₹0.52 crore on Wednesday before collecting ₹5.55 crore on its first official day in theatres. Collections dipped slightly on Friday with ₹4.25 crore, but the film witnessed growth again over the weekend. Saturday brought in ₹5.10 crore, followed by its highest single-day total so far on Sunday.

Trade observers are now watching how the film performs during the weekdays following its opening weekend. The occupancy trend over the first four days indicates improved footfalls during the weekend shows compared to the initial weekday run.

Athiradi Overseas Collection Pushes Worldwide Total Higher

Apart from its domestic performance, overseas markets have also contributed significantly to the film's overall earnings. Reports suggest Athiradi earned approximately ₹5 crore gross internationally on Day 4, taking the total overseas gross collection to ₹21 crore.

Combined with the domestic figures, the film's worldwide gross collection has now reached around ₹45.38 crore within four days of release.

The story of Athiradi revolves around Samkutty, an engineering student attempting to revive his college's "Arohan" festival. The situation takes an unexpected turn after the event's chief guest is kidnapped by Sreekuttan, a former goon who has now become a musician.

The film is written by Paulson Skaria and Arun Anirudhan. Its technical crew includes cinematographer Samuel Henry, editor Chaman Chakko and music composer Vishnu Vijay.
