Athiradi Box Office Collection Day 1: Tovino Thomas-Basil Joseph Film Opens With ₹10 Crore Worldwide Gross

Athiradi Box Office Collection: The Malayalam action-comedy Athiradi, starring Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph, began its theatrical run on May 14 with a notable opening at the box office. Directed by Arun Anirudhan, the film recorded steady collections on its first day across India and overseas markets.

According to early estimates from box office tracking platform Sacnilk, Athiradi collected around ₹5.55 crore net in India on Day 1 across 1,915 shows nationwide on its opening Thursday and registered an overall occupancy of 52 percent. Including paid premiere screenings held a day earlier, the film's total India net collection currently stands at ₹6.07 crore.

In gross terms, the India collection has reportedly reached ₹7.04 crore so far. The overseas market also contributed to the film's opening performance, with the movie earning around ₹3.50 crore gross internationally. With this, Athiradi has crossed an estimated ₹10.54 crore in worldwide gross collections, including paid premiere screenings held ahead of the theatrical release. The Day 2 performance of the film will now be closely watched to determine whether it can maintain momentum over the weekend.

Athiradi Story, Cast And Weekend Box Office Outlook

The film revolves around Samkutty, an energetic college student who attempts to revive a banned campus festival. What begins as an effort to bring back celebrations reportedly leads to rivalry and chaos within the college environment, forming the core conflict of the story.

Apart from Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph, the film also features Zarin Shihab and Riya Shibu in important roles. The screenplay has been written by Paulson Skaria and Arun Anirudhan.
