Kim Sae Ron's aunt has accused actor Kim Soo Hyun of having a romantic relationship with Sae Ron when she was still a minor. The late actress's family, together with the Garo Sero Research Institute (GSRI), allegedly shared a set of private photographs claimed to be taken during the duo's dating period. These images, which began circulating widely on social media, have once again fueled speculation and drawn renewed attention from both fans and the Korean media.

Around the same time, intimate photos of the pair were also leaked online, adding further fuel to the already fiery controversy.

In response to the uproar, Kim Soo Hyun's agency had previously acknowledged that the two stars dated in the past, but firmly denied the allegations that their relationship began when Kim Sae Ron was still underage. According to a recent Koreaboo report, Kim Soo Hyun's legal representative, Go Sang Rok, released an additional statement on November 12, further clarifying the actor's stance amid the ongoing controversy. The lawyer offered a detailed response to the allegations made by Kim Sae Ron's family and other sources, emphasizing that many of the claims circulating online were either exaggerated or entirely false.

Earlier, Sae Ron's side had reportedly claimed that thousands of photos of the alleged couple existed - a statement the lawyer strongly disputed.

Go Sang Rok also addressed the images shared by the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (Gaseyeon), including the widely discussed ski resort photos purportedly taken during Kim Sae Ron's teenage years. The lawyer refuted the implications of those images and provided clarifications regarding the timeline of events presented by the late actress's family. "There are no thousands of photos. It's impossible for them to exist," the lawyer stated as per Koreaboo. He added, "Attorney Bu Ji Seok, representing the bereaved family, reportedly stated that he never told Gaseyeon those photos were from the deceased's minor years. He also acknowledged that the image was released before he was appointed as the family's legal representative, adding that he had no comment on it."

Responding to the claim that Kim Sae Ron had attempted self-harm in January 2024, Kim Soo Hyun's team asserted that the actor was not even in South Korea at that time, but rather in the United States, reportedly completing procedures related to a marriage registration process.

Additionally, the statement revealed that Kim Sae Ron had departed for Europe on September 12 for an extended trip without notifying her agency, with plans to return on October 1 - shortly before her contract was officially terminated later that year.

The lawyer's clarification aims to set the record straight as the controversy surrounding the two stars continues to dominate online discussions and spark widespread speculation across social media.

Kim Soo Hyun's Lawyer Issues New Statement

Addressing the alleged love letters from the military, advocate Sang-rok dismissed Sae-ron's family's claims and stated, "The June 2016 KakaoTalk message allegedly saying "When can I fall asleep in your embrace?" was based solely on Kim Sae Ron's younger sibling's claim and had no evidence linking it to Kim Soo Hyun. The April 2018 message, "If you're not going to try, oppa," also contained no proof that Kim Soo Hyun was the sender.

As for the so-called "extra military letters", no additional letters exist apart from the publicly released one, and that "internet letters" were not private correspondence from soldiers but open letters sent by fans. Kim Soo Hyun never sent a personal email to the deceased while serving in the military."

His statement further added, "Even before the official end of her contract, the company and her manager had received multiple reports that she was out drinking with acquaintances, which ultimately led to the decision not to renew her contract. Regarding the photo she uploaded then deleted from social media with Kim Soo Hyun, the company felt it was a form of blackmail. Although they never expected to recover the ₩700 million she owed, after this incident, the company officially waived her debt."
