Kshetrapati OTT Release: Kshetrapati, the Kannada film headlined by Naveen Shankar, is set to make its digital debut more than two years after its theatrical outing. Written and directed by Shrikanth Katagi, the film originally hit cinemas on August 18, 2023. Following months of speculation about its streaming prospects, an official announcement has now confirmed its digital premiere.

The film revolves around Basavaraj, a young engineering aspirant with plans of building a career abroad. His life takes an abrupt turn when he learns that his father, a farmer, has died by suicide under mounting debt pressure. Forced to abandon his academic ambitions, Basavaraj returns to his village and assumes responsibility for his family's farmland. As he navigates the realities of agriculture, he becomes aware of the financial strain faced by farmers and the disproportionate profits made by larger corporate entities.

The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of political and economic tensions in rural Karnataka. Local leadership is portrayed as siding with corporate interests, leaving cultivators with limited bargaining power. With institutional mechanisms offering little relief, Basavaraj begins mobilising fellow farmers to directly market their produce. The story also introduces a journalist, played by Archana Jois, who amplifies the issue through media coverage and social platforms.

Alongside Naveen Shankar and Archana Jois, the film features Achyutkumar, Rahul Ainapur, Krishna Hebbale, Shailashree Urs, Natya Ranga and Harsha Arjun in supporting roles. The project was presented by Ravi Basrur Music & Movies in association with Ashraga Creations and EFG (The Emotions Factory Group).

The technical crew includes cinematographer YVB Shiva Sagar and editor Manu Shedgar. The music, sound design and background score were handled by Ravi Basrur, with the soundtrack released under the AANANDA Audio Video label. Action choreography was by Narasimha, while VFX work was carried out by Lakshveda Studio.

Speculation about the film's digital premiere first surfaced in early 2024, suggesting it had secured a streaming deal months after its theatrical run. Those claims, however, did not translate into an official release.

It has now been confirmed that Kshetrapati will begin streaming on JioHotstar from February 26, 2026. Viewers who missed its theatrical run will be able to watch the film online starting Thursday.
