According to a report published by TV9 Kannada, the actor suffered a cardiac arrest at his residence. He was reportedly taken to a hospital immediately after the medical emergency, but doctors were unable to save him.

Dileep Raj began his acting journey in television before making his debut as a lead actor with the 2005 Kannada film Boy Friend. In addition to acting, he also worked as a dubbing artist, television producer and director.
