Prime Video has revealed exclusive first-look images and the official teaser trailer for Legally Blonde prequel series Elle, ahead of Amazon's May 11 upfront presentation in New York. The show premieres on July 1 and will stream only on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Produced by Amazon MGM Studios with Hello Sunshine, Elle already has strong backing, with Prime Video ordering a second season before the first has aired. Marketing for the series leans into the franchise’s famous line, “What, Like It's Hard?”, signalling a clear link to the original Legally Blonde films.

Season One of Elle follows Elle Woods long before Harvard, placing the character in 1995 during high school. Elle navigates tense friendships, a secret romance, and some questionable style choices. Family remains central, as Elle turns to relatives for support and develops a stronger connection with mother Eva Woods.
Across these teenage challenges, Elle and Eva prove they can handle whatever arrives when they stay united. Each setback shapes Elle’s confidence and values, gradually building towards the determined law student audiences recognise. The teaser highlights this journey, offering early glimpses of Elle’s upbeat attitude and growing sense of purpose.

Creator Laura Kittrell, whose credits include High School and Insecure, serves as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Caroline Dries. Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Amanda Brown and Marc Platt are also executive producers. Jason Moore directed the first two episodes of Season One and holds an executive producer credit.
Bryan J. Raber and Asmita Paranjape work as producers, with Josie Craven and Jen Regan as supervising producers. The Season One cast features Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods, June Diane Raphael as mother Eva, and Tom Everett Scott as father Wyatt.
