Sudesh Kumar Death Reason: Veteran actor Sudesh Kumar, best known for the romantic film Saranga, died aged 95 on May 1 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Family members confirmed that Sudesh had suffered a brain stroke and had been receiving intensive medical care.

Reports stated that Sudesh was first taken to hospital on April 20 after the stroke. Sudesh remained admitted there until April 30. Medical staff then allowed Sudesh to return home, where an ICU facility was set up, but Sudesh’s condition later worsened.

Born on March 17, 1931, Sudesh completed a science degree at Elphinstone College, fulfilling the wish of Sudesh’s father, who had hoped for a medical career. Sudesh later chose acting instead and joined Prithviraj Kapoor’s well-known theatre group to begin professional training.

Sudesh gained recognition with the romantic tragedy Saranga, playing the lead role that made Sudesh a familiar face for Hindi film audiences. Over several decades, Sudesh appeared in many productions and became associated with a particular era of Indian cinema.
