Salim Khan, the veteran screenwriter, is stable in Lilavati Hospital after a minor brain event and ICU admission. Shah Rukh Khan visited the facility, drawing attention to the health matter. The family emphasises privacy, with medical staff providing limited details while noting gradual recovery linked to age-related factors.
Veteran writer Salim Khan is recovering in Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after a minor brain haemorrhage, while Shah Rukh Khan has been filmed visiting the 90-year-old, drawing strong attention to the health scare involving Salman Khan’s father.

Salim Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on 17 February 2026 and later shifted to the ICU. Doctors say the situation is stable, but recovery is expected to move slowly because of age-related complications and the overall frailty that accompanies being 90.
Salim Khan health update and family reaction
Even as medical updates circulate, Salman Khan’s family reportedly feels uncomfortable with how personal information has reached the media. A source close to the family told Variety India, "Health is a private matter. Ideally, no updates should be shared with the media, and any communication should be left entirely to the family, if and when they choose to address fans and well-wishers (sic)."
According to the same report, Salman and the wider family are unhappy about specific remarks released by medical staff. They have, therefore, requested authorities and hospital representatives not to provide any further health details, stressing that future communication, if any, should come directly from the family.

Doctor Jalil Parkar spoke to the press about Salim Khan’s condition and outlined what the team had observed. According to News18, the doctor said, "He was having jerks, and his blood pressure was high. We treated him and had to put him on a ventilator to prevent his condition from worsening. It wasn't because he was critical," explaining the situation.
Medical staff carried out required investigations and procedures, though Doctor Jalil Parkar did not reveal specific test results. After treatment and ventilator support, Salim Khan was moved to the ICU. Hospital sources indicate that the condition is stable, but improvement is gradual, which doctors link mainly to age-related health issues.
