Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan is recovering in Mumbai after a minor brain haemorrhage and a medical procedure, with family and colleagues sharing hopeful updates. Salman Khan's Battle of Galwan co-star Chitrangada Singh and Lilavati Hospital's Dr. Jalil Parkar both stated that the 89-year-old remains stable and is doing well.

Chitrangada Singh, who acts with Salman Khan in Apoorva Lakhia's Battle of Galwan, addressed concern around Salim Khan's condition. Speaking to IANS, the actor said, "He's doing very well. I wish him all the best and good health." Chitrangada's message added to the reassurance already offered by doctors at Lilavati Hospital.

Salim Khan health update from doctors and medical team

Earlier, pulmonologist Dr. Jalil Parkar briefed the media about the Salim Khan health update following detailed checks. According to Dr. Parkar, Salim Khan had undergone a diagnostic procedure on 18 February, a day after being brought to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra with a minimal brain haemorrhage that required close monitoring in the intensive care unit.

While speaking to reporters outside the hospital, Dr. Parkar explained the intervention performed on Salim Khan. The doctor said, "A procedure called DSA was done this morning. No surgery was required. He is still on a ventilator. Hopefully, by tomorrow, he will be off the ventilator." Dr. Parkar stressed that recovery could take longer because of Salim Khan's advanced age.

Dr. Parkar also clarified why Salim Khan was shifted to ICU support and placed on a ventilator. After the first round of tests and medicines, doctors decided that more focused observation was necessary. He said, "We put him on the ventilator because we wanted to do certain investigations." The doctor added that Salim Khan's condition was never described as 'critical' by the hospital.

Salim Khan had been admitted to Lilavati Hospital on 17 February after the minor brain haemorrhage was detected. Family members and several Bollywood colleagues, including Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh and Javed Akhtar, visited the hospital. They met doctors and relatives, seeking direct updates on the Salim Khan health update rather than relying on unverified online reports.

Salim Khan is widely known for shaping Hindi cinema as a screenwriter, especially through the Salim-Javed partnership. Alongside Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan worked on many hit films in the 1970s and early 1980s, which still influence mainstream Bollywood writing and character arcs for large-scale action and drama films.

The Salim-Javed duo created scripts for films such as Zanjeer, Deewar, Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, Kranti, Trishul and Don, among others. Their work turned into some of Bollywood's most referenced titles. The partnership remains one of Hindi cinema's most discussed writing collaborations from the 1970s mainstream era.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan continues to work on his upcoming projects while staying close to family during the Salim Khan health update. Salman was last seen in AR Murugadoss' Sikandar, which released in cinemas in 2025. Battle of Galwan, based on the Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese Army troops, is planned for an Eid 2026 theatrical release, though reports indicate the date could shift.

Entertainment writer Nirali Kanabar, who follows film and celebrity updates closely, reported on Salim Khan's hospitalisation and recovery. With doctors, colleagues and family all indicating stable progress, attention now rests on further medical bulletins from Lilavati Hospital as Salim Khan continues supervised treatment after the minor brain haemorrhage.
