Met Gala 2026 Red Carpet: Isha Ambani Turns Heads In 1,800-Carat Diamonds But Her Mango Purse Steals The Show
Met Gala 2026: At the Met Gala 2026, Isha Ambani once again made a powerful style statement, blending heritage with high fashion. Marking her sixth appearance at the global event, she stayed true to her vision of showcasing Indian craftsmanship on an international stage - this time in a striking creation by Gaurav Gupta.
META GALA 2026: HERE'S WHAT ISHA AMBANI WORE
Isha Ambani's outfit at the Met Gala 2026 stood out for its artistic depth and grand scale. Designed as part of a collaboration with Swadesh, the custom saree was more than just couture-it was a work of art. Crafted using pure gold threads, the drape featured intricate, hand-painted motifs inspired by traditional Pichwai art, layered with detailed embroidery that added both texture and storytelling to the ensemble.
The addition of a sculptural cape brought a modern, architectural touch, a signature element often seen in Gupta's designs.
The scale of craftsmanship behind the outfit was equally impressive. Over 25 artisans worked for more than 1,200 hours to bring the vision to life, highlighting the level of dedication and precision involved. The look seamlessly aligned with the event's "Fashion is Art" theme, presenting Indian textiles in a bold, contemporary format.
Jewellery played a central role in completing the ensemble. Ambani adorned herself with over 1,800 carats of diamonds, along with emeralds and polki pieces. Several of these were heirloom selections from Nita Ambani's personal collection, adding a layer of legacy to the look. Her blouse, heavily encrusted with gemstones, blurred the line between clothing and jewellery, making it a standout feature of the overall styling.
Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, every detail of the appearance was thoughtfully curated. Her hair accessory reimagined the traditional gajra using unconventional materials like paper, copper, and brass, designed by Brooklyn-based artist Sourabh Gupta.
ISHA AMBANI'S MANGO PURSE GRABS ATTENTION
She also carried a unique accessory - a mango-shaped sculpture by Subodh Gupta, placed within a crochet bag, adding a creative nod to everyday Indian culture.
Compared to her previous appearances, Ambani's 2026 look felt more cohesive, balancing textiles, jewellery, and artistic elements seamlessly.
With this appearance, she not only turned heads but also reinforced her position as a global ambassador for Indian design, bringing traditional artistry to one of the world's most-watched red carpets.
