Jana Nayagan (Hindi) New Release Date: Jana Nayagan, Thalapathy Vijay's final film before full-time politics, has created massive buzz as his grand farewell to cinema. The movie, which is touted to be a political action thriller, is directed by H Vinoth and marks his collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay after Valimai and Theri. Jana Nayagan features Vijay as the fierce people's hero battling corruption. Pooja Hegde plays his love interest, bringing glamour, while Bobby Deol debuts as a brutal villain. Gautham Vasudev Menon and others add star power. Needless to say, Jana Nayagan has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

However, Jana Nayagan landed in trouble over censor board certification. Planned for a huge January 9, 2026 release during Pongal, it got postponed due to a shocking censor board fight, leaving fans heartbroken and sparking industry outrage. For the uninitiated, The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared it initially on December 22, 2025, with UA 16+ for violence and mild religious bits. But an anonymous complaint about hurting sentiments and army portrayal sent it to revision, delaying certification. Producers rushed to Madras High Court, calling it unfair-no complaint details shared. Court reserved orders, questioning rush, leading makers to postpone sadly amid "unavoidable circumstances."

As the Madras High Court had reserved the order for January 9, as per the recent update the court order has ruled out in favour of Jana Nayagan team. Yes! The court has directed CBFC to issue a U/A 16+ certificate for the Vijay-starrer.

When Will Jana Nayagan Release?

Ever since the court verdict has been announced, there have been speculations about the new release date for Jana Nayagan which will be releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages. According to a report published in One India, industry insiders are speculating that Jana Nayagan is likely to hit the theatres on January 11 (Sunday) ahead of the Pongal celebrations. On the other hand, speculations are rife that the movie might get released on January 14 during the Pongal festivities. However, an official announcement in this regard is yet to be made.
