O'Romeo Box Office Collection Day 8: Did Shahid's Film Beats Udta Punjab Lifetime Collection In 8 Days?
O'Romeo Box Office Collection Day 8: Shahid Kapoor's latest film O'Romeo is drawing strong attention as it moves into its second week. The crime action thriller has delivered Shahid's best opening at the box office since the COVID-19 pandemic. Collections are growing at a slow but consistent rate, indicating stable word-of-mouth support. The film is written and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and represents Shahid's first theatrical release of 2026. O'Romeo adapts Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, and mixes crime, drama and action. The cast includes Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Farida Jalal and Vikrant Massey in important parts.

O'Romeo is the fourth film bringing Shahid and Vishal Bhardwaj together, after Kaminey, Haider and Rangoon. The collaboration returns after a nine-year break, adding to curiosity among viewers. Their earlier films had earned critical praise, which led audiences to expect a layered, intense treatment of Zaidi's Mumbai underworld subject. Expectations were high before release, as trade watchers viewed O'Romeo as one of 2026's key titles. The film also marks Vishal Bhardwaj's return to direction after a three-year gap. Industry buzz tracked the opening closely, and the strong first-day numbers reflected Shahid's draw in crime-based stories.
